Building Racial Equity
into Your Business

Wednesdays from 4-6 pm EST   |   September 16 - October 21, 2020

What does it mean to center race equity?
How can you use an equity lens to strengthen your business practices?
How can we measure equity?
Why does racial equity matter?

As racial inequities continue to impact the country and the world, Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) Strategist Danielle Marshall and Executive Coach Wendy Moomaw, will host a six-week workshop series through the Conscious Collaboratory. This workshop series, "Building Racial Equity into your Business" is an opportunity for business leaders to explore what racial equity is, discover how it differs from – and is more than – diversity and inclusion, and over time, learn how to infuse the work of racial equity into their organizations. Each week, participants will build upon what they learned, discover shifts that can be made by viewing their decision-making processes through an equity lens and apply those practices to embed racial equity into their organizations.

With so many businesses and organizations engaged in anti-racist conversations, what is your business doing to move the needle? What does it mean to center racial equity? How will you start, continue or advance the conversation, AND take action?

This co-created workshop experience will be anchored in a leadership assessment and will focus on dialogue, engagement and application to deepen  understanding around racial equity. Participants will take and receive a debrief of the Hogan Development Survey (HDS), a well-known Fortune 500 leadership assessment. This Racial Equity Workshop Series is suited for leaders who are looking for guidance on how their organizations may move towards more equitable outcomes for all. The Collaboratory is a space where leaders from all business sectors and sizes can discover their commonalities and leverage their collective learning to create innovative solutions. During this workshop, leaders will practice developing racial equity solutions and learn how other organizations are engaging in this work.
“In the midst of the dual pandemics of COVID and racial inequity, we want to be conscious of this moment in time and what this means for businesses – leaders and our employees. How are we creating equitable, inclusive, and safe spaces for our teams to show up to work, and to be able to navigate through it all? How are we really beginning to set our eyes and actions on dismantling systemic racism, which has existed for over 400 years in this country? People are demanding, rightfully, that it be addressed. As leaders, it’s an opportunity to step up and be part of the solution.”

“This is a great opportunity for a group of leaders to step into a room and learn through one another’s experiences. How can we engage in race conversations inside organizations and expand the potential for racial equity in policies and procedures inside the company? If you aren’t sure how to get started, or how to make bigger strides in centering racial equity within your organization, this is a great place to start. We’re inviting participants to step into the work here – to co-create and practice together.”
